Dj’ing at a Lounge
So, yesterday I’ve been at a lounge near the place I live and brought the owner (which already knows me quite well, since I’ve been there several times before) a promo disc with a chillout-mix I’ve done. He played the CD and after it finished I asked him how he liked the mix and if he’s searching for a DJ. He said that it was pretty good stuff and that I should come by next week in the noon, to show him some life-mixing. I hope I’ll find the time as soon as posible to go there and mix a bit around, maybe after he sees… errr.. no.. maybe after he hears my knowledge he’ll let me spin the records in the evenings. Would be fun…

Lost in Post, or why you should always double-check if something takes way too long...
Although I finished my graduation thesis last September, I received my diploma only about two weeks ago. Some document was lost on the post way, as it turned out. The incident was discovered just in time for this year's graduation ceremony. Now I'm a lucky Dipl.-Inf. which is a German equivalent to Master of computer science. Yay! :D
gDesklets 0.40
The planning and prototyping phase for gDesklets 0.40 has already started. The new version will be a huge leap ahead and is being designed with portability in mind. Some people already dream of running it on phones (Lauri), iPods (chrisime), or the Nokia 770 internet tablet (me). Even Windows ports will be possible, although Vista will feature a similar System called Microsoft Gadgets. The new gDesklets core will be completely platform independent, so that only the backends have to be ported.
My Nokia 770 Top 3
Sudoku - This number puzzle game is really addictive.
FBReader - The Nokia 770 is a great lightweight eBook reader.
Image Viewer - The version coming with the latest firmware is finally fast enough for browsing photos. No more need to carry a laptop around for showing photos.

I love candy
Since the Wordpress theme Relaxation has already began sucking a long time ago, I’ve searched for some new themes I could use on my Blog. I’ve found several ones and in the end I picked out the one I liked best: MX4. The theme is pretty cartoon-ish, what makes it look very interessting and nice (in my opinion). I liked the banner and the whole site builtup. What I don’t like on this theme is the width of the site itself… I guess I’ll work on a widening some time.
Hoever, I hope you like that theme as much as I do

From the queen of england to the hounds of hell
I’m gonna fight ’em off
A seven nation army couldn’t hold me back
They’re gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back
And I’m talking to myself at night
Because I can’t forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette
And the message coming from my eyes
Says leave it alone
Many people will (and really should) recognize this song immediately - I’m talking about The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army. A fantastic song, great lyrics and a even greater melody which has been covered a several times. But now, I’ve finally found an amazing cover that’s probably better than the original. I’m talking about the Nostalgia 77 cover. Some days ago I’ve just browsed some Hed Kandi Nu Cool album and heard the melody and a powerfull voice singing the lyrics. I didn’t knew there was such stuff on Hed Kandi albums… however, if you love Gospel-like songs or at least the White Stripes original you really should give that one a try.

Motorola PEBL U6
I’ve just ordered the Motorola PEBL U6 for in total 277.80 €. It’s a damn sexy mobile phone, it looks great and it has features like for example a integrated VGA-Digicam with 4x digital zoom, voice memo, e-mail (pop3, smtp, imap4), Wireless Village IM, a MPEG-4 de- and encode for movies, a usb-connection-port, 5 mb internal memory and it only weights 110 gram. Besides, it has a standby-time of 250 hours, what’s quite a long for such a phone. I really can’t wait to get that gadget, I hope it will be delivered in a week or two, but as I know the mobile-phone industry it will be obsolete when I’ll get it, heh. However, I gotta go back to work now, I guess…
